PNP says COVID-19 cases among personnel reach 89

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said the number of confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases among their personnel is now at 89.
In a statement, Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said they will continue to uphold strict quarantine measures, particularly in Metro Manila and those areas under Enhanced Community Quarantine.
A total of 847 PNP personnel are least probable virus cases, where suspected cases are 559 and 199 probable.
The PNP Health Service said a total of 13 cops recovered while three have died from COVID-19.
“The PNP under the command of Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa will be firm in standing by our President Rodrigo Duterte that for us to win this war against COVID-19, we need to impose on all Filipinos strict ECQ and GCQ measures as well as lead the thorough contact tracing and isolation of possible COVID-19 patients in the country,” Banac said.
“We need everybody’s cooperation as we strictly impose the law in this time of national emergency,” he added.
“The PNP will do all necessary measures under the law for us maintain order and to overcome this pandemic,” he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
