PNP to enforce quarantine guidelines as provinces brace for ”Ambo”

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said they will be on full alert and strictly enforce quarantine guidelines in areas where Typhoon ''Ambo'' will pass through.
In a statement, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said PNP chief General Archie Francisco Gamboa directed all unit commanders to work with respective Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils to ensure public safety.
“Amid challenges faced by the PNP, it will remain resolute and ready for disaster preparedness and response operations to protect lives and properties from Typhoon 'Ambo' as it continues to defend our citizens from COVID-19,” Banac said.

Banac said all PNP response operations for Typhoon “Ambo” shall observe the minimum health standards such as wearing of face masks, face shields, gloves, social distancing, regular washing of hands, use of alcohol and sanitizers and other measures.
Based on its 2pm bulletin, the weather bureau said ''Ambo'', with winds of up to 150 and gusts of 190 kph, made landfall over San Policarpo, Eastern Samar around 12:15 pm.
