August 4, 2017
The Philippine National Police said cops will go all out against illegal gambling for the next 15 days.
"We started in February so we are delivering results. Now, the chief PNP said, okey we should not be blamed always. Let's go all out in the next 15 days", said Chief Superintendent Dionardo Carlos on Friday.
PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said on July 31 he will relieve regional police directors if they fail to stop illegal gambling in their area,
Carlos said there are authorized small time lottery operators who employ bet collectors that are bookies and bet collectors
"So what the chief PNP wants is he want the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) , STL (small time lottery) operators to give us the list of their personnel", Carlos said.
Dela Rosa ordered an all-out operation against illegal gambling after Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office General Manager Alexander Balutan voiced out his disappointment about the PNP's action against illegal gambling on July 12. Alanna Ambi/DMS
