PNP to respect DOJ ruling on 13 cops in Pampanga raid
October 2, 2019
The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Wednesday said they will respect the resolution of the Department of Justice ( DOJ) on the 2013 Pampanga drug raid.
"We will respect any resolution they will release. We expect this to be their final decision on the 13 cops," said Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, the PNP spokesman.
Banac said they are ready to respect the decision even if it turns out the chief PNP is involved in the incident.
In Tuesday's Senate hearing, Justice Secretary Menardo Gueverra said though the case of the 13 cops involved in the anomalous drug raid in Pampanga was dismissed, it is pending for review.
The 13 were also accused of recycling narcotics seized in anti-illegal drugs operations.
Guevarra said he ordered his people to expedite the case.
"Within month's time, the resolution will be released one way or another," he said.
Banac said the 13 involved officers are now under floating status.
Earlier, Banac said they are waiting for the order of relief for the 13 policemen. Ella Dionisio/DMS
