PNP warns Gadon he may be arrested if he does not wear face mask or shield

August 28, 2020

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday warned that lawyer Larry Gadon may face arrest if he is caught again not wearing a face mask or face shield in public.

In a statement, Police Brig. General Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, said as a lawyer, he should not disrespect  rules and regulations.

“Atty. Larry Gadon may face arrest if he continues to violate health protocols and ordinances imposed by local government units that require the use of face mask and face shield in public,” he said.

“As an officer of the court he should know better than to flagrantly disrespect the rules and regulations that protect public health,” he added.

Wearing face masks and face shields in public is one of the health protocols set by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus.

Banac said they will not have qualms in applying the law on anybody who makes similar willful violations.

Last Thursday, Gadon went to the Supreme Court to file a petition without a face mask or face shield.

The Department of Health assailed the lawyer after he was seen wearing a face shield with face mask taped on it.

Gadon admitted not believing in the efficacy of face masks and the fear from the virus is only created by paranoia.   Ella Dionisio/DMS
