Police anti-kidnapping group rescues South Korean, arrests four suspects

The Philippine National Police Anti-kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) rescued a Korean national on Saturday in the parking lot of the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros, Manila as four suspects were arrested.
In his report AKG Acting Director Senior Superintendent Glenn Dumlao said victim was identified as Lee Jung Dae, a Korean national. He was being abducted on November 24, 2017 inside his residence in Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Dumlao said four suspects were apprehended and identified as Cha Jae Young (Korean national), Cha Dae Sun (Korean), Kim Min Kwan a.k.a Michael Lim (Korean), and Raymond Flores (Filipino).
The report said the three arrested persons were guarding the kidnap victim and were caught in flagrante.
Lim was arrested in a follow-up operation along Padre Faura, Manila near his condominium unit at Robinsons Tower 1 in Ermita, Manila.
Dumlao said the suspects conspired to spot a target and conducted the surveillance on the victim who operates and owns a restaurant in Angeles City, Pampanga.
According to AKG, an initial ransom of P 1,200,000 was demanded. The negotiation was done while the kidnap victims were inside two separate motor vehicles. Lee Jung Dae’s girlfriend had delivered the ransom money at Marquee Mall, Angeles City.
AKG said the victim was not released but transported to Intramuros for another P1.2m ransom demand. DMS
