Police arrest suspected illegal recruiter who promised jobs in Japan

Police operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Tuesday arrested Rosalie Fadera, a suspected illegal recruiter, around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at a supermarket along Antonio Arnaiz Ave. in Makati City.
Superintendent Roque Merdegia, head of the CIDG Anti-Transnational Crime Unit (ATCU), said in a text message they received complaints from five persons who claimed Fadera promised them jobs as factory and farm workers in Japan.
Fadera and her cohorts, whose aliases were reportedly Aida and Nelson, ask P100,000 each from the victims as processing fees.
But the recruits found out Fadera is not a licensed recruiter after they verified at the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
She was captured after got P50,000 in marked money from would-be victims. Her cohorts were not present.
Police are readying cases against Fadera for violating the Migrant Workers Act and swindling. DMS
