Police arrest two suspected kidnappers of mayor’s son

Police captured two suspected kidnappers of the son of a town mayor in Zamboanga del Norte last Thursday.
In a police report Saturday, Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, chief of the regional public information office, said the suspects were apprehended in the vicinity of Sirawai municipality.
Galvez identified the suspects as Soudi Pondusan Banguih, 36, a resident of Brgy Danganon, Sirawai and
Edilberto Sarmago Albino, 61, a resident of Brgy Antonino, Labason.
"Both persons allegedly were involved in the recent abduction of Jed Tiu Quimbo (son of Labason Mayor Eddie Quimbo) in Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte based on the CCTV footage and confirmation of the witness Jolito Timanono Rodillos, who was with the victim during the incident," she said.
"He (Rodillos) directly identified that the two aforementioned suspects were involved and companion with the abductors during the time of incident," she added.
Jed Quimbo was abducted by six armed men in front of their store at the vicinity of Barangay Poblacion, Labason, Zamboanga del Norte last Wednesday.
