Police file cases of murder, multiple frustrated murder against 8 suspects in ambush of PDEA agents

Police have filed cases of multiple murder and double frustrated murder against eight suspects in the ambush of five agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority (PDEA) Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao before a court in Lanao del Sur.
The agents were returning from an activity when they were waylaid at Kapai, Lanao del Sur on October 3.
The suspects were identified as William Gandawali, barangay chairman of Indaran, Tagaloan; Oscar Gandawali, Palawan Macalabo, Lala Amboloto, Jamal Ambaloto, Mizangcad Gandawali, Aiman Gandawali, Jamel Borar aka Memekan. They remain at large, police said.
Police have yet to identify two suspects linked to a certain Comayog Macapagal who is on a drug watch list in Marawi and shot dead in a buy-bust operation with Lanao del Sur police last August 8 in Marawi City. The police and military are trying to find out where the other suspects are.
Police said they received reports Macapagal's relatives threatened to retaliate against government troops following his death.
Police alleged Oscar Gandawali, Macapagal's nephew, who has been living with him in Mindanao State University in Marawi City, where he was killed have organized his close relatives that at the right time, they will take revenge. DMS
