Operatives from the Philippine National Police- Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) are looking for a police officer who was caught extorting money fr0m the live-in partner of a drug suspect in Taguig City last Monday night.
In a press briefing, NCRPO chief Major General Debold Sinas named the cop as Police Corporal Hadzmer Amer who is assigned at Taguig City Police Station- Drug Enforcement Unit.
Sinas said the entrapment was conducted around 11:32 pm along General Luna St., Tuktukan.
“He asked for P 35,000 from the live-in partner of the (alleged) drug suspect he arrested in exchange for his release,” he said.
Sinas said the live-in partner reported the incident to PNP-IMEG.
“However, when the money is being given to him, he noticed the operatives approaching that’s why he snatched the money from the complainant and boarded his motorcycle to escape,” Sinas said.
Sinas said Amer's motorcycle has no plate number.
Investigators filed a case of robbery-extortion against him.
“I also ordered the chief of police of Taguig City Police to look for his address... we are waiting for him to report to explain himself,” Sinas said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
