Police investigating who placed banners in Metro Manila footbridges
July 12, 2018
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is trying to find out who is the mastermind in the red banners saying the Philippines is province of China attached to footbridges in Metro Manila Thursday.
Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, director of the National Capital Region Police Office, directed police to hunt down the people responsible for the tarpaulins with the words: "Welcome to the Philippines, Province of China”.
“This is being investigated,” Eleazar said in a text message.
This took place as the country marked the second anniversary of winning its territorial dispute with China in the South China Sea in 2016. DMS
