BAGUIO CITY – The legal officer of the Calabarzon regional police and his partner were gunned down in Antipolo Friday morning and Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Albayalde said they are looking if dismissed policemen were behind this.
Supt. Ramy Tagnong and his partner, Maria Angela Cabaltera Hadap, were headed to Quiapo Church when they ambushed around 6:40 am at Barangay Dalig 1, Antipolo, said Albayalde. Tagnong died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds while Hadap is being treated at a hospital.
Albayalde, who met with police commanders and officers from the Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley regions in the Cordillera Convention Hall at the Baguio Country Club said although personal grudge is also being explored, investigators are looking at work-related factors.
The PNP chief said Tagnong sent several erring cops out from the service because of misdeeds. DMS
