An anti-illegal drugs operative was arrested by the Philippine National Police- Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) for using a recovered motorcycle in Pasig City Wednesday.
Brigadier General Ronald Lee, IMEG director, said Corporal Steven Mark Pandi was arrested by joint elements from Highway Patrol Group, Special Action Force and National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) around 1:30 pm at Evangelista Street corner Santolan, Pasig City.
Pandi is assigned at the Pasig City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU).
“The suspect was caught in the act while using a motorcycle without plate number, which was owned by an arrested drug personality during an anti-illegal drug operation in the said city last October 04, 2019,” Lee said.
“The said motorcycle was included in the inventory of confiscated evidence and the suspect was also caught with his backride which was a violation of General Community Quarantine Guidelines,” he added.
Lee said also recovered from Pandi were one Colt .45, magazine, six live ammunition with no pertinent documents and one caliber 9mm with two magazine and 20 live ammunition.
“There will be no respite in the crackdown against scalawags amid the community quarantine against COVID-19,” Lee said.
“We’re intensifying our monitoring of policemen involved in all forms of illegal activities and assure the public we will apprehend them as soon as we have enough evidence against them,” he added.
Lee said PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa has a strict zero tolerance policy against these police officers.
Pandi is in the custody of the PNP-IMEG for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges. Ella Dionisio/DMS
