The Philippine National Police- Anti Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) on Tuesday rescued a Malaysian kidnap victim from two foreigners in Angeles City, Pampanga.
According to Police Brig. General Jonnel Estomo, AKG director, operatives conducted a rescue operation around 3pm at a mall parking lot in Malabanias, Angeles City, which resulted in the arrest of the Malaysian and Indonesian suspects.
Estomo said the operation stemmed after the Embassy of Malaysia informed them that the kidnappers are demanding ransom for the release of the victim.
“After the ransom money was delivered to the kidnappers the pre-arranged signal was given to the operatives and subsequently effected the arrest against the two foreign national suspects. However, the Filipino driver of the arrested suspects was able to escape from the arresting teams,” he said.
An initial investigation and interrogation was conducted which led to the rescue of the victim found at an establishment in Angeles City where they usually keep their victims.
Recovered from the suspects were identification cards and the vehicle they are using.
Suspects were brought to Mabalacat Police Station for documentation and will be brought to AKG headquarters in Camp Crame for disposition and filling of appropriate charges in court. Ella Dionisio/DMS
