The suspect in the death of a teenager in Cebu last year was found dead inside Lapu-Lapu City jail Sunday morning.
Central Visayas police said Renato Llenes, 44, allegedly committed suicide inside the infirmary cell’s comfort room.
Initial report said Llenes was found hanging, using an improvised rope made from t-shirt, by his co-inmate around 6:10 am.
Jail officers immediately brought the victim to the hospital but he was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.
Llenes is the suspect on the death of Cristine Silawan, who was found dead and her face skinned to the bone at a vacant lot last March 11, 2019. Ella Dionisio/DMS
