Police seize P61.2 million worth of shabu, nab suspect in Taguig

Authorities confiscated P61.2 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in Taguig City last Monday night.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the Taguig City Police Station arrested a 26- year old suspect, Gezel Wesley Oliveros, who is included in their drugs watchlist, around 9:30 pm at No. 20 Amihan Street, Barangay Ususan.

According to Taguig police chief, Colonel Celso Rodriguez, they conducted a on- month surveillance against the suspect.

“We gathered intelligence operation so that we can arrest him,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said confiscated from Oliveros were around nine kilograms of suspected shabu with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P61, 200,000.

“He is delivering his supply to an alias Boy M who is a boss in Cavite,” he added. “He (Oliveros) is given P300, 000 to P400, 000 per kilo.”

Rodriguezz added that the suspect’s supply of illegal drugs also came from Cavite province and is being delivered in big cities in Metro Manila.

Asked about “Boss M”, Rodriguez said he is a big drug dealer who is key a supplier in the whole Region 4A- Calabarzon.

He said they are  conducting follow-up investigation on who might be possible links to the suspect aside from "Boss M".

“We are now looking at another suspect who is subject of our investigation and possible follow-up operation,” Rodriguez said.

The arrested suspect will be subjected for inquest before the office of the City Prosecutor for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.  Ella Dionisio/DMS
