Police shoot alleged gang members dead in Cainta

Police shot dead four suspected members of a gang which are allegedly behind killings and robberies in Cainta, an official said Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Marlon Nilo, Cainta police chief, said policemen were responding to a call from a resident on a shooting incident at Block 3, Planters at the Floodway area on Tuesday.
Nilo said policemen saw persons were preparing to pour cement into a drum where someone was inside.
Police shot it out with them, resulting in the death of four members. The others escaped.
Nilo said police were able to arrest 12 to 13 members of the group, which is known as the Highway Boys, who is reportedly behind illegal drugs, gun-for-hire and bank robbery cases.
