Police who served during ECQ, MECQ areas to receive COVID-19 hazard pay
September 23, 2020
The chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said all police personnel who rendered duty in areas under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from June are entitled to receive COVID-19 hazard pay.
“Aside from our enhanced medical system and supportive healthcare for personnel, the PNP leadership also ensures the welfare of our personnel who selflessly served the community and the Filipino people at the height of COVID-19 pandemic,” Police General Camilo Cascolan said.
Cascolan said this is consistent with existing provision of the national government under the Administrative Order No. 26 that provides hazard pay grants to government personnel who physically reported for work during the period of implementation of ECQ.
Last September 15, Police Brigadier General Rolando Hinanay, acting Director for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), issued a directive instructing PNP units and offices to signify and submit their COVID-19 hazard pay claims.
Hinanay added the hazard pay claim will cover June onwards supported by the Regional IATF ( Inter-Agency Task Force) Resolution declaring respective areas under ECQ or MECQ.
He added all concerned offices and units were informed about the submission of the lists for hazard pay to keep them on track on the updates and to avoid confusion and disinformation. Ella Dionisio/DMS
