Policemen remain at Senate premises waiting for arrest warrant on Trillanes
September 6, 2018
Policemen belonging to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) will remain at the vicinity of the Senate ready to arrest if a court issues an order arresting Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
CIDG Director Roel Obusan, in a statement sent through Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Senior Superintendent Benigno Durana Jr. on Thursday, said his men "are still there only to assist the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) at the moment.”
CIDG operatives have been at the Senate premises after President Duterte's proclamation revoking Trillanes' amnesty over rebellion charges was disclosed Tuesday.
Obusan said they will play a lead role if the Makati Regional Trial Court issues an arrest warrant against Trillanes. DMS
