PSE index ends lower

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed lower on Wednesday.
The peso closed at P50.46 against the US dollar from P50.52 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $539.19 million from $558.66 million on Tuesday.
The PSE index settled at 5,639.27 points, down 32.40. In the broader market, there were 126 losers, 69 gainers and 36 unchanged.
Volume reached 561.47 million shares worth P6.05 billion from Tuesday's 619.49 million shares valued at P6.43 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 30 centavos to P33.50; BDO, down P2.20 to P96.10 and Ayala Corp., down P3.50 to P639. DMS
