PSE index flat, peso lower vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index ended flat while the peso was lower against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The peso settled at P50.83 from P50.75 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) reached $884.55 million from $778.1 million on the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed at 7,462.31 points, down 6.39 points. In the broader market, there were 118 losers, 69 gainers and 42 unchanged.
Volume reached 496 million shares worth P4.96 billion from Tuesday's 579.05 million shares valued at P4,44 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 25 centavos to P40; Manila Water, up 40 centavos to P10.70 and Ayala Land, up 50 centavos to P42. DMS
