PSG to give DOH list of personnel who got COVID-19 vaccine for monitoring – Duque
January 4, 2021
The Presidential Security Group (PSG) will provide the Department of Health the list of its members who received the smuggled vaccine against coronavirus disease.
In the "Laging Handa" press briefing on Monday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said during his coordination with Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and PSG commander Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante III, it was agreed that his office would be provided with the list of those injected with COVID-19 vaccine "to monitor (them) for any adverse reactions."
"So, we had made coordination, we're just waiting for the list so that we can monitor their health after they were vaccinated," he said.
Durante earlier admitted that as early as October last year, some PSG personnel have volutarily underwent inoculation using Chinese vaccine.
This was despite the non-approval yet of the Food and Drug Administration of any COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
Meanwhile, Duque said the DOH has no direct communication with Sinopharm, the Chinese company, which produced the vaccines that were allegedly used by the PSG members.
"We are giving the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) the mandate to know how these vaccines were able to enter and the FDA has coordination with the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) and the Bureau of Customs. Let's just wait for the result," he said. Celerina Monte/DMS
