QC cops arrest suspect who promised women bogus jobs in Japan

Quezon City policemen on Friday arrested a 64-year-old man who is suspected of duping fwo people of their money in exchange for bogus jobs in Japan.
The suspect identified as Romeo Alviza was arrested in an entrapment operation around 5:20 p.m. at Gateway Mall in Cubao. He is facing cases of illegal recruitment and estafa.
The operation against Alvisa by operatives of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit came from the complaints of two women.
The victims told probers they met Alviza on March 6 at the same shopping mall. The suspect claimed his wife is a Japanese who owns a hotel in Japan.
Alviza convinced the victims to give P8,500 for processing their application and visas.
But the women became suspicious and sought police help after Alvisa asked for more money instead of giving them their visas on March 19.
Probers discovered Alvisa is not a licensed recruiter after verifying with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). DMS
