Policemen rounded up 175 loiterers for violating ordinances and other laws in 24-hours operations in Quezon City starting 5 am Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday.
Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said Saturday 38 are minors who were “rescued” for violating the city's curfew ordinance.
Among other violations are drinking liquor in a public place, smoking in public, walking half-naked along the streets, jaywalking and illegal possession of deadly weapons.
In the last few weeks, police boosted operations in compliance to President Rodrigo Duterte's directive to rid streets of idlers. DMS
