Record recoveries from COVID-19 set, total number of new cases at 26,420

A record number of patients overcame the coronavirus disease even as fresh cases continued to rise, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.
There were 298 recoveries, bringing the total to 6,252. The previous high was 289 on June 12.
There were 26, 420 new cases from 490 new cases. Out of the new cases were 348 fresh cases and 142 were late cases. National Capitol Region accounted for 131 of the fresh cases.
Ten deaths were announced, raising the total to 1,098. DMS
