Repatriated Filipino seamen begin ship quarantine: PCG

Filipino seafarers repatriated from South Korea, Indonesia, and Qatar started their quarantine on Tuesday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Wednesday.
The PCG started the operations of the quarantine ship which was offered by 2GO travels by welcoming 90 seafarers on April 14.
As of Wednesday the number of repatriates has reached more than 100 after more Filipinos arrrived from Taiwan.
"After the medical screening, the seafarers were provided with individual room accommodation where they shall complete the 14-day quarantine period," said PCG.
The PCG said the repatriates also went to the Overseas Worker Welfare Administration ( OWWA) and their manning agancies before they were admitted to the quarantine ship.
According to PCG, "through the guidance of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, PCG Commandant Admiral Joel Garcia initially deployed 75 security personnel and 25 nurses to manage the quarantine ships and provide medical assistance, food, and other necessities to the overseas workers."
