Retired cop killed by alleged by NPA members in Kalinga

A retired policeman was killed by alleged New People’s Army (NPA) members in a shooting incident in Kalinga on Tuesday morning, a military spokesman said Wednesday.
Lt. Col. Isagani Nato, spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom), identified the victim as Johnny Adaol y Tadeo.
Nato said based on initial report the victim was shot to death by two alleged members of the NPA hit squad in Sitio Luyucan, Brgy. Lacnog, Tabuk, Kalinga around 10:50 am.
“The NPA criminals immediately extricated from the area after the killing,” he said.
Nato said authorities recovered four spent shells and two slugs of caliber .45 pistol from scene of the crime.
In the evening of the same day, Nato said around 10 rebels harassed San Jose patrol base in San Mariano, Isabela at around 9:10 pm.
Another patrol base in Casala also in San Mariano, Isabela was also fired upon by the NPA members at around 9:15 am.
He noted the attacks were lasted for around five minutes. Robina Asido/DMS
