Roque decides to undergo quarantine after one of his aides tested positive for COVID-19
September 7, 2020
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said on Monday that he isolated himself after one of his security aides tested positive for coronavirus disease.
As part of his quarantine, Roque held his regular televised press briefing at his home instead of conducting it at the New Executive Building in Malacanang Complex.
"I am on a self-imposed quarantine because one of my security aides tested positive for COVID-19 last Saturday, September 5," he said.
However, he said his aide who is infected with COVID-19, was not his assigned close-in security but the one in charge of his vehicle.
"There is no need for the media who covered me during last Saturday's event to quarantine since my aide who tested positive did not leave the vehicle," Roque said.
He also said that he underwent COVID-19 test last Saturday and it "yielded negative result."
On Monday's meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte, Roque said he would participate via Zoom. Celerina Monte/DMS
