Roque says no indication that Aguirre on the way out
April 5, 2018
There was no indication Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II is on the way out, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said on Thursday.
He made the statement following the Cabinet meeting, which lasted for seven hours in Malacanang and was attended by the Department of Justice chief on Wednesday night.
"He (Aguirre) was there as always. He seemed normal. There was no indication that he was on his way out. There was nothing extraordinary in effect. He was just there like always," Roque said on what happened during the Cabinet meeting.
He said President Rodrigo Duterte did not say anything about Aguirre's supposed dismissal from office.
The Philippine Star came out with a report that Aguirre would be fired either during the Cabinet meeting or anytime this week.
