Samar mayor injured in shooting incident

The mayor of Tagapul-an, Samar escaped death after he was injured in a shooting on Thursday morning.
Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson, said Mayor Vicente Limpiado Jr ,was shot in front of his gate at Barangay Sugod around 8:50 am.
Limpiado was hit at the back of his body and was immediately brought to the hospital.
Banac said Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa alerted Eastern Visayas police units for a possible region-wide manhunt for the suspects.
Gamboa directed Brigadier General Bernabe Balba, regional police director, to expedite investigation of the incident to arrest the suspect. Ella Dionisio/DMS
