Senior Citizens Partylist Rep. Datol passes away

Senior Citizens Partylist Rep. Francisco Datol Jr passed away at Monday morning,  House of Representatives secretary-general Jose Luis Montales said.

''It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Cong. Jun Datol passed away a few hours ago,'' said Montales. '' We will give you the details as soon we receive  them.''

Datol was 71 years old.

Bagong Henerasyon Partylist Rep. Bernadette Herrera said Datol worked hard to push for bills to help senior citizens.

''I did not feel that he was a senior citizen because of his energy during work, especially at the committee level,'' said Herrera.

''We were talking on the phone daily to discuss (House) resolutions for seniors,'' she said. DMS
