Sergeant killed in shooting incident inside PMA

An enlisted personnel assigned at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) was killed while two others were wounded in a shooting incident on Tuesday.
The PMA said the shooting happened inside Fort Gregorio del Pilar in Baguio City around 4:50 pm.
In a report, the Cordillera Regional Police Office identified the victims as Staff Sgt. Joefrey Turqueza (Philippine Air Force) and Staff Sgt. Vivencio Raton (Philippine Army).
Based on an initial report, the suspect identified as A2C Christopher Lim of the Philippine Air Force approached the two sergeants and shot them using an M16 rifle causing the death of Turqueza.
Raton tried to grab the M16 from Lim and hit the airman with the rifle, the report said.
Raton and Lim were rushed to the PMA Station Hospital but later transferred to Baguio General Hospital for further treatment while Turqueza was declared dead on the site.
The PMA assured its commitment to an impartial investigation of the incident. Robina Asido/DMS
