Seven Maute group members, supporters surrender

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Seven members and supporters of the Islamic State for Iraq and Syria (ISIS)- linked Maute group in Lanao del Sur, a top military official announced Wednesday.
Maj. Gen. Roseller Murillo, commander of Army’s 1 st Infantry Division. said they surrendered on Tuesday to the troops of the 55 th Infantry Battalion under the Joint Task Force Ranao in Pagayawan, Lanao de Sur.
Murillo said the seven Maute surrenderees gave up three caliber .30 M1 Garand rifles, four caliber .45 pistols, a Carbine rifle and one 9-mm pistol.
Murillo did not release the names of the seven Maute members and supporters who surrendered except to say “custodial debriefing of the group is still ongoing.” DMS
