Several Filipinos injured in London fire: DFA

Some Filipinos were reported injured after the fire that struck Grenfell Tower in London on Wednesday, the Department of Foreign Affais (DFA) said Thursday. In a statement, DFA spokesman Robespierre Bolivar said “ (Philippine) embassy representatives have already visited” the Filipinos in the hospital. It was not known how many Filipinos were injured or the extent of their injuries. Grenfell Tower, a 24-storey building, is where some Filipinos live in the upper floors ”Filipinos living near the Tower have also been advised not to go back to their homes until the situation stabilize,” he added. Bolivar said they have been “appeals to the Filipino community in the UK for assistance to Filipinos who may have been affected.” DMS
