Sinas said policemen can exercise in PNP parade ground
November 23, 2020
The chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said policemen can exercise individually in their parade ground will again be allowed while observing minimum health protocols.
“It is allowed… but not doing it by group, that is not allowed. So cops who wants to do jogging, walking, as long as they observe the basic health protocols of masks, shields, they are allowed,” Police General Debold Sinas said in a press briefing.
Sinas also said the body mass index (BMI) of some cops will be monitored again as obesity causes illnesses which are comorbidities for COVID-19.
“That’s why we developed the four minute exercise… It’s okay to be fat but not too much because you know for the last nine months because of the pandemic only few were exercising,” he said.
Sinas said the PNP dismantled their quarantine facilities in the parade ground so they can restore physical activities inside Camp Crame. The PNP will use their quarantine facilities outside for infected cops.
Sinas encouraged other policemen to follow a diet regimen and exercise.
“If I can do it at the age of 55. I don't think the young ones can’t do it,” he said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
