Sinas says he lost 20 kilos in nearly four months
December 3, 2020
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Debold Sinas on Thursday said he lost 20 kilos after following a strict diet and exercise for four months.
“I reduced (by) 20 kilos… That’s almost four months program and of course I consulted the doctor. I have my medical checkup and I was given a guide on what to do. Strict diet, healthy living at and less drinking… I just drink moderately then sleep well,” Sinas said in a TV interview.
Sinas earlier said his ideal weight is 210 pounds or 95.25 kilos but because of his age, 55, he said he is satisfied with 230 to 240 pounds.
Before the pandemic, former PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa ordered cops to get their ideal weight as this will help them their public image.
Sinas was then chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and he led a weight loss program in the NCRPO.
Now that the country is facing a health problem due to COVID-19, Sinas said their fitness program is in response to the Department of Health (DOH) protocols.
“I have issued a directive to continue implementing these policies but at least I hope they will heed the advice to lose weight,” he said.
Last week, Sinas said police are allowed to do physical exercises, such as jogging and walking, inside camps as long as they are following the minimum health standard.
Police who still need to reach their ideal body mass index (BMI) are also tasked to do four-minute exercises twice a day. Ella Dionisio/DMS
