A Singaporean wanted for large-scale illegal recruitment and 28 counts of estafa was arrested by the Quezon City Police District last Wednesday.
QCPD chief, Police Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel Jr., identified the suspect as Arvindt Arasu, 29, of Barangay 170 Deparo 2, Caloocan City.
Esquivel said Arasu was arrested by virtue of two warrants of arrest issued by Antipolo Municipal Trial Court around 12:25 pm in his home.
“(Arasu) was informed of the nature of the offense and the cause of his arrest where he admitted he is the same person whose name appeared on the arrest warrant,” he said.
The suspect can post bail for P3,000 for his estafa case while no bail was recommended for his large-scale illegal recruitment case.
He was brought to Novaliches District Hospital for physical and medical examination and subsequently turned over to Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) for custody.
The QCPD will notify courts of origin on his arrest. Ella Dionisio/DMS
