Six alleged lawless group members killed in battle vs troops in Sultan Kudarat

Six alleged members of an armed lawless group were killed while more than a dozen were apprehended in an encounter with government troops in Sultan Kudarat on Thursday.
Maj. Arvin Encinas, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Mindanao Command spokesman, said the troops of the Joint Task Force Central through the 40th Infantry Battalion launched a law enforcement operation targetting armed lawless group commander Tugali Guiamal Galmak, alias Commander Tugali, in Purok Galmak, Barangay Baumol, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat on Thursday morning.
Col. Joel Mamon, officer-in-charge (OIC) of Army 601st Infantry Brigade said "Tugali is an ALG commander and a former member of Pentagon/KFRG (kidnap for ransom group) operating in Central Mindanao."
Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, JTF Central Commander said when the government troops reached the site at 6:29 in the morning, "the target was reinforced with more or less 20 fully armed men from Barangay Langgapanan."
Encinas said the firefight resulted to the death of six enemies and apprehension of 14 others, including Tugali were wounded.
Encinas said troops also recovered 14 high powered and two low powered firearms.
