Six still missing in mining landslide in Toledo City

Six persons remain missing in the landslide that struck a mining firm in Toledo City on Monday.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Central Visayas said Wednesday 11 were injured while the casualties from the mishap are still four.
According to the regional OCD , the injured individuals were brought to the Carmen Copper Corporation Hospital for treatment. Carmen Copper is an operating mine of Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corp.
The OCD regional office did not furnish the names of the injured but it said the casualties were named Ernesto Allan Caspe, Jonil Lagola, Juan Tapang. The body of Denesio Labang was recovered on Tuesday.
The missing were identified as Jose Carpentero, John Paul Resuelo, Simeon Laconas, Alfredo Tautho, Jonwel Herediano and Reynante Sepada.
OCD Central Visayas said search and rescue teams from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire were deployed to assist the search and rescue operation for the missing individuals.
Atlas Mining told the Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday that the landslide, which occurred around 4:15 pm Monday, was ''traceable to the incessant rains for the past several months and aggravated by Typhoon Vicky which hit parts of the Visayas, including Toledo City last Friday, December 18, 2020.
