Soldier killed, five NPAs wounded in Cagayan fighting

A soldier was killed while five New People’s Army (NPA) members were wounded in a 30-minute firefight in the province of Cagayan on Wednesday.
1st Lt. Rhea May Reyes, 5th Infantry Division public affairs office chief, said troops were conducting security patrol operation when they encountered armed men at the vicinity of Sto. Niño West around 6:20 pm.
She said the security patrol was being conducted by the military in response to the reported presence of an armed group in the area. Robina Asido/DMS
