Soldiers discover IED factory in Maguindanao

Government troops discovered an improvised bomb factory in Maguindanao on Friday afternoon.
Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, JTF Central Commander, said the troops of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion were conducting combat clearing operation when they found the improvised explosive device factory at Sitio Talpok, Bar angay Salman, Ampatuan municipality.
Uy said the recovered explosive materials are one round 105mm unexploded ordnance, one round 60mm unexploded ordnance, several IED components such as fuses, switches, blasting caps, shrapnel, and the like, and propaganda materials.
The troops immediately coordinated with the explosives and ordnance team for proper action.
“The accomplishment is attributable to the peace-loving people of Ampatuan who continuously support us in our campaign against terrorism,” Uy said. Robina Asido/DMS
