Spillover of Marawi fighting being monitored: Dela Rosa
September 4, 2017
Philippine National Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa said Monday there is no reported spillover of the fighting in Marawi City to Buldon, Maguindanao but they are watching the situation.
"So far we haven't received anything yet. We will validate it", Dela Rosa told reporters in Camp Crame.
President Rodrigo Duterte said in his speech on September 1 during the 11th founding anniversary celebration of the Eastern Mindanao Command in Davao City that fighting between the government and the Maute ISIS group may have reached other parts of Mindanao, specifically Buldon, Maguindanao.
At least 639 members of the Maute-Abu Sayyaf group were killed while 145 government forces perished after nearly four month of battle between the government against the local terrorist group. Alanna Ambi/DMS
