Stocks end higher after recent declines

Stocks finished higher on Wednesday after recent losses.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index rose 69.74 points to 7,793.13. In the broader market, there were 107 decliners, 103 losers and 40 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.10 billion shares worth P7.3 billion from Tuesday's 1.22 billion valued at P7.03 billion.
Foreigners were net buyers, purchasing P4.8 billion and selling P4.37 billion.
Most active shares were led by Universal Robina Corp., 2.64 percent up to P140; Vitarich Corp., 27.75 percent higher to P3.73 and Ayala Land Inc., up 3.14 percent to P41.
The peso closed at P52.07 against the US dollar from Tuesday's P52.05. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $502 million from $427.3 million during the previous day. DMS
