Stranded Japanese tourists in Cebu leave for Narita

Hundreds of Japanese tourists who were stranded in Cebu due to the enhanced community quarantine pandemic returned to their country onboard a Philippine Airlines sweeper flight on May 12.
In a statement, Philippine Airlines spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said a total of 116 stranded Japanese tourists left Cebu International Airport onboard PAL flight PR 5436 for Narita.
Villaluna said the repatriation flight was made possible through a joint coordination between PAL and the Japanese government.
Japanese nationals have been stranded in Cebu since March due to the lockdown. PAL has mounted several special flights out of Cebu for stranded tourists, VIllaluna added. DMS
