Suspect behind killing of retired policeman, barangay kagawad in QC arrested

The suspect behind the killing of a retired policeman and a barangay kagawad in Quezon City was arrested in Agusan del Sur last Sunday.

According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Brig. General Ronnie Montejo, Marlon Serabia, 44, was turned over by Rosario Municipal Station in Agusan Del Sur to Fairview Police Station last September 27.

Montejo said Serabia was tagged in the killing of Jerson Leonardo in 2013, a retired policeman in Quezon City and Brgy. Kagawad Jerzon Dazo, of Barangay Greater Fairview sometime in 2017.

“He went into hiding in Agusan Del Sur after the killing,” he said.

Serabia is the leader of a criminal gang operating in Quezon City known for their involvement in “gun for hire”, illegal drugs and extortion activities.

Montejo said the suspect often brags of his involvement in the killing of the retired cop and the barangay kagawad while drinking with buddies and friends

The courts of origin will be notified on the arrest of Serabia to bring justice to the death of the victims. Ella Dionisio/DMS
