Suspected Communist rebels burn passenger bus in North Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY- Suspected communist rebels set on fire Monday a passenger bus in Makilala, North Cotabato a day after government and rebel negotiators agreed to to resume peace talks.
Supt. Romeo Galgo Jr, regional police spokesman, said the attacks occurred around 830 a.m. along the national highway in the village of San Vicente.
“A unit of Yellow Bus Line bound for Davao City from Tacurong,Sultan Kudarat was flagged down and burned by the rebels,” Galgo said.
It was the sixth attack against Yellow Bus since November last year. Galgo said there were no civilian casualties.
On Sunday, members of government and rebel negotiators agreed to resume the peace talks as they met in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Army Captain Arvin Encinas, spokesman for the military’s 6th Division, said there is no order from President Rodrigo Duterte to cease operations against the New People’s Arny. DMS
