BAGUIO CITY—Residents woke up Monday morning to 11 degree Celsius temperature, and the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astromonical Services Administration (PAGASA) sees the mercury sliding downwards until February.
People have added a layer of clothing to keep warm, especially tourists. Vegetable growers in towns in Benguet province like Atok, Mankayan and Kibungan have reported frost developing for the last three days.
Agot Balanoy of the Benguet Farmers Marketing Cooperative, said these were in Madaymen, Kibungan; Cada in Mankayan and Paoay in Atok.
In December last year, PAGASA recorded the city’s lowest temperature at 13.6 degrees Celsius. Baguio's coldest temperature was 6.3 degrees on January 19, 1961. DMS
