Three alleged NPA members killed in encounter with military in Camarines Norte

Three alleged members of New People’s Army (NPA) were killed in a nearly one-hour encounter with the military in Camarines Norte on Thursday morning.
Capt. Joash Pramis, public affairs officer of the 9th Infantry Division, said troops were conducting security operation when they have encountered an undetermined number of armed men believed to be under the Bicol Regional Party Committee at the vicinity of Brgy. Santa Cruz, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte around 6:30 am.
Pramis said the troops were deployed to conduct security operations in response to the reported presence of NPA members.
He said the firefight resulted in the killing of three alleged rebels and recovery of six high-powered firearms which include one AK47, one M14 riffle, two M16 rifle with one grenade launcher.
Pramis said troops also recovered two improvised explosive devices, wires, ammunition, communication equipment and other personal belongings of the rebels. Robina Asido/DMS
