November 24, 2017
Three persons were hurt as a fire erupted at a gas station at a busy street in Mandaluyong City, a fire official said Friday.
Senior Fire Officer 3 Victorio Tablay, chief arson investigator of the Mandaluyong Fire Station, said in a radio interview an explosion occurred at a construction site wen workers hit the bullbar of an LPG tank.
"The fumes evaporated and quickly spread since there's an open fire coming from the fishball (street food) vendor that caused the sudden mild explosion," Tablay said.
The fire started around 5:05 pm at Petron gasoline station, Shaw Boulevard, Barangay Wack-Wack and was placed under first alarm, Tablay said. The three injured persons, who were ambulant vendors, were brought to a hospital, he added.
At 6:22 pm, the fire was extinguished, authorities said. Ella Dionisio/ DMS
