Three QC barangays declared free of African Swine Fever: Belmonte

Three barangays in Quezon City on Wednesday were declared clear of African Swine Fever (ASF). 

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte announced that Barangays Tandang Sora, tatalon, and Pasong Tamo are free of African Swine Fever. She also added that the city government might clear Barangay Bagong Silangan. 

"We are culling the last batch (of pigs)," said Belmonte. 

However unlike the mentioned barangays, Belmonte said Barangay Payatas l have around 2,000 unculled pigs.

“We underestimated, even the barangay head underestimated the number of pigs in the barangay,” Belmonte added. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
